digging into the historically rich site of fuller park, chicago, adjacent to the former union stock yards, people - infrastructure exists in a speculative future where the interstate highway no longer exists. people rarely drive cars. on the wound left behind by the highway, lives a series of pedestrian bridges and commercial developments, as well as a new crop of low-rise housing and community farming. as well as these plans, the use of the chicago subway system, now a free amenity to all, and the historic freight lines will aid the growth of the community. all of these elements connected by the bridges and elevated corridors. people-infrastructure acts as a new model for infrastructure, one that exists at the human scale and can act as a container for the growth of a community that was overrun by large implementations of government-sanctions.
